Collies or other herding breeds may have a reaction to selamectin if given over the recommended heartworm prevention dose. If your dog is one of these breeds, and your veterinarian has prescribed Revolution, observe your pet for at least 8 hours after giving the medication for weakness, staggering, dilated pupils, trembling, drooling, or pressing the head against a wall. Contact your veterinarian immediately if you see these signs.

Is Revolution the best flea treatment?

Revolution for Dogs protects against a narrower range of pests compared with the other flea treatments we recommend—but it’s the only one that protects against heartworms. I bought this for the first time to battle a flea infestation that started when we adopted a couple new very young kittens. Kittens are too small for Revolution so bathing and combing often as well as working on getting rid of future fleas in the carpets and furniture. I switched my pets to collars and they are no longer scratching or miserable.

I just gave him a 2nd dose today but curious if it’s not as effective on Siberians due to their triple layer coat.
